Today, I had the chance to visit Parc de Sceaux located in the Ville of Antony, in the southern periphery of Paris. This large park is known to many for its picturesque line of trees which blossom with pink and white flowers in Spring as well as its scenic ponds and fountains.
About Parc de Sceaux in Paris
The Parc de Sceaux, which is reminiscent of the Versailles gardens, was formerly owned by Colbert, one of Louis XIV’s prominent Ministers, and designed by Andre Le Notre, the landscaper for the Versailles gardens.
The park features French gardens or “jardins à la française,” numerous fountains, and a large canal.
In addition to strolling through the various areas, visitors can attend a variety of events throughout the year, such as chamber music concerts in the orange garden or candlelit evenings.
How to Get to Parc de Sceaux ?
The easiest way to reach the park is by taking the RER B train from the center of Paris, although adventurous visitors can also bike there from the Montparnasse area along the “Coulée verte.”
